Testimonials

In this project… “every window and sliding door was replaced in a small, 25-year old row-house association populated by demanding unit owners who do not happily part with $10, let alone $10,000. We dreaded the hassle, the risk and the expense for several years. Henderson and Daughter took the hassle and the risk out of the equation and the we’re just sorry we didn’t find them five years ago. Eastside Oakstreet Rowhouses never looked or felt better.”

I live in a modest, 10-unit row-house association in Central City Portland developed by the original unit owners in 1979. Former President Jimmy Carter attended an opening ceremony because the goals included neighborhood revitalization, livable “density,” energy efficiency and modest consumption of building materials, etc. When, 20+ years later, the original windows began to fail and leak, replacement was a major decision. We spent two years agonizing over the expense and another year gathering estimates and interviewing various contractors and approaches. Henderson and Daughter weren’t the least expensive bid we received but there was little debate about the reasons to choose them. They installed the windows in half of our units during the winter and the other half in the early Spring. Each owner was impressed with the caliber and professionalism of every person involved and we could not be more pleased. Heating and cooling bills are dramatically improved and our homes look great!”

I am so tardy in sending my thanks for the incredible changes the bay and the replacement windows made in the kitchen, not to mention the new front door. The team from Henderson is beyond amazing. From Debby to Keith the professional (and clean!) installers I just can’t say enough. Besides incredible products and amazing craftsmen you have the highest level of customer service I have seen in a very long time. THAT product cannot be sold-it’s earned, and your company has gone above and beyond, once again.

THANKS to you ALL for an outstanding experience.

Best regards, Kathy

This homeowner contracted to have 15 aluminum (from original installation in 1960) windows removed and replaced with Milgard vinyl windows. That is every window in the home, except the one on the back of the attached garage. That included one entry/exit slider, a casement window, and some large fixed windows, and five windows in the basement, all replaced. They also replaced some of the sill wood that had dry rot. The approximate cost of the improvement was $8,945.

“Three guys showed up on a Monday morning and went to work and finished by the end of Tuesday. They were efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable about the work they did. They cleaned up the work site, took away all of the old windows, added exterior trim and caulk, caulked inside, and cleaned all windows inside and out before leaving. It was clear to me that they took great care in doing excellent work. They worked together well, when needed. I am very pleased with their work and with the windows. Even on the first night after they were all in, I noticed a quieter and tighter feeling in my home. It has been easier to heat since the windows were installed as well.”

This homeowner had all of the old wood windows in a 1908 four-square house replaced with new wood-clad windows from Milgard. The replacement window types ranged from picture windows, to single-hung, to double-hung, to casements. About half were made with simulated divided lights. The approximate cost of the improvement was $37,000.

“Russ and his crew did the work and were SO polite and responsive. Wendy McVicker was the sales woman and estimator and she, too, was responsive and knew so much about windows. By the end of this project, I felt we were all one team with the common goal of creating beautiful windows in my historic home. Mission accomplished! Overall, during the estimate and recommendation period, Wendy really was practical while also recommending just what we wanted. She knew her product lines really well and at the last minute, when we needed to add a sliding patio door to the order, she came same day, measured and wrote an addendum to the order. We feel so taken care of by Henderson and Daughter. Every person we dealt with was great to work with.”

This homeowner installed all new windows and exterior doors. The approximate cost of the improvement was $15,000.

“The craftmen that installed our windows and doors were top notch. The were very professional and worked with us when any questions arose. Everything was completed quickly and at a great quality. Our salesperson, Trudy, was also helpful… The couple of changes that had to be made were done at Henderson and Daughter expense, and done in an efficient manner. The main factor is the house looks great and the windows and doors are terrific. Try a textured fiberglass door, they look amazingly like wood when stained… Beautiful!”

This homeowner installed three replacement windows in my bedroom and one window in the bathroom. The home was built in 1948. The approximate cost of the improvement was $2,500.

“We went with Henderson and Daughter because they had been completely reliable and responsive through the process. No other company came close to their level of service. Debby is the owner and a consumate sales person and went out of her way to make sure we were informed and comfortable every step of the way. The windows were flawless with very few warranty details that were attended to immediately. Our house is older and there was a fair amount of customization to intall the windows and doors – they look terrific. We found H&D to be responsive, reliable, hardworking and good on their word.”

1948 home. 23 windows & 2 doors replaced. Fiberglass Woodclad/vinyl $24,000.

“It started with a very creative saleswoman, who took my very loose vision and created the perfect design. I didn’t want windows like every other house in the neighborhood. She considered our budget in the process, but showed me options. I actually took her design work (not pricing) out for 2 other bids, and while she/they wasn’t/weren’t the least expensive, they got the order. We were very methodical in the bidding process, and it took us about 6 months to decide, but they were never pushy. The product arrived as promised (even a little ahead of schedule) and the installers were prompt, very professional, & neat. We have one more window to convert to a door, and we have hired them for this as well.”

For this homeowner Henderson & Daughter did the design, bid, and installation of 8 windows and 1 door. The approximate cost of the improvement was $10,000.

“They were incredibly prompt and very responsive to my needs. In fact, the windows were available for install a good two weeks earlier than projected. The installation was very quick and efficient, and the installer was excellent about cleaning up after himself. I think the price was a bit more than some companies, but it was offset by the fact that I got exactly what I wanted in a very timely and high quality manner.”

This project replaced four windows in a 1922 house. The approximate cost of the improvement was $2,400.

“H&D did a terrific job! The installer showed up on time, was on task all day, and did great work. At the end, he even shop vacuumed the floors under the windows and reinstalled my blinds. The windows look fabulous, and the service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend Henderson and Daughter!”
